We had a leisurely start to the day…11:30am! The late start made it easy to decide what to have for breakfast…lunch! We headed West to Lagos for a fun-filled afternoon. We walked around the old quarter and had another great lunch with a bottle of wine. Today we tried the Portuguese specialty of grilled sardines
.
Once again Abby liked it and CJ was kind of iffy. After taking in the sights of this cute little town we let the kids run around on the beach for awhile. The only rule was that they could not get wet…yeah right. Both of them ended up soaked and sandy. They had a great time.
After the beach we drove 25km West to Sagres. This place is known as the “End of the World.” It is the absolute Southernmost tip of Europe and in ancient times it was believed that the world ended at the edge of the horizon. There is an enormous fort that juts out over the water and just begs small children to fall over the edge – Hi Mom. I found it kind of nerve wracking but really beautiful. CJ had a great time collecting snails and racing around. Yes snails. No idea how they got there, 200 feet above the water...Abby had to stay in her carrier, the edges were just too tempting. The day ended in Albufeira where we found a little restaurant off the main pedestrian mall. We had some delicious seafood and sangria – Allan would have loved it! Afterward, in the spirit of Italy and Aunt Shelley, the kids got some ice cream around 10:30pm. Chris had an espresso to stay awake on the drive home. We wandered around town for a bit and eventually made our trip “home,” to Villamoura – arriving for bedtime around midnight.

Hi guys - looks like you are having a wonderful time. We've got snow and sleet here - oh joy.
Too tired right now to be clever - unlike R.J. who is just a one man comedy act! Hope you made it to Gibraltar OK (I think I told RJ you were looking for directions to the Galapagos - Galapagos/Gibraltar what's the difference)
BTW - if you are taking notes for your new business - most Americans don't like thier food looking at them (Hannibal Lecter is the rare exception)

Hello. I have decided that you are right. I should be a more adventurous traveler. Annie, I would like you to plan an international trip for me and Michelle (and possibly the children). Michelle would really like to go to Italy or the Holy Land. Can you research this for us when you get back?
Your loving brother.
Well, what can I say? I married a smart girl. That last post was really MICHELLE, posing as ME. So now, in the spirit of detante, I will only log on as me, and not as Michelle (unless of course, I have something to say that would seem really funny if Michelle had said it!) Michelle is right, you guys make it look easy. I did you one better though. This morning I logged on at google and put in the names of the towns you have visited. I got plenty of pictures, a brief history of the place, and at lunch I will have a taco to round out my "experience". Of course, to make it really "authentic", I may also eat a half cooked fish and take some exlax to get me crapping my brains out. Yeah, that sounds about right. Love RJ.

Two words: Ep Cot!
Well, I have finally read the whole blog. Sounds like you are having a super time. I am not sure how I missed some of it, but knowing me on the computer, anything is possible. We are having some snow today and it is cold. In the low 30's here. Where are you all going to go for Church services on Sunday??? We are getting ready to go to Church now and I guess on Sunday we will go to Tracy and Jay's church. It will be packed and I mean packed.
Not sure if we will find a place to sit. We might have to leave at 9:00 for a 10:30 service. Well, enjoy and I will be in touch. Love seeing the pictures of everyone.
Wow! You guys really know how to do it up! All we have to look forward to is Casino's and shows and lots and lots of babysitters for the kids! Ok, I'm just being mean b/c I'm jealous. Trey misses Abbey like crazy and has even taken up the "uh huh" , "nu ah" fight with his siter (it's just not the same) Kimberly misses CJ as well. I'm so glad you are having so many fun adventures. Looking forward to reading more in Vegas, hopefully we will have some internet usage there. Take lots of pictures so you can finally put all that scrapbook stuff to good use!
Love, Heather and the Gang
While you have a good time across the pond we here in Virginia are in the middle of a cold spell. It is 32 with a half inch of snow "yes I said snow" on the ground. We are all well now that Carol is over the 36 hour flu where she removed all liquids and solids from her system and lost 5 lbs. I will check in with you soon have fun and be safe we love you all. Michael
Yes, we're finally checking in due to brain death on blogging. It has been some time! Happy Easter Sullivan-Derzaks. The pics are great...we'll always have sardines to keep the memories going! I simply must have the one of CJ and Abby eating. It warms my heart. Pat viewed the blog Friday and dislosed his jealousy at not being with you all. He will also get on in a minute to update CJ with Grady's accomplishments. The Burgh is frigid and we're heading up north through the snow belt to celebrate Easter. I imagine the celebration will be huge where you are. Love the photos...can't wait to see you.

He is now leading the majors in HRs
