We visited with Mike and Carol for the afternoon. Mike and Carol dropped us at the airport about 4:30pm. Off to a great start with Palm Sunday mass in the Chapel at Dulles Airport. The Chapel was directly across from our gate. Service started at 5:45pm and we were boarding the plane by 6:25pm for a 6:45pm departure. Despite confirming our seats 3 times, we did not get the desired seating assignments. Instead of having 2 window seats back to back - which allows Abby to kick CJ, we instead got no window seats and were 4 across and had to deal with Abby kicking a stranger for 7 hours! We tried the helpful hint from Karen Arnold (using the sleep masks) but to no avail. Abby fell asleep 5 hours into the flight and CJ nodded off AS WE WERE LANDING IN LONDON!

My deepest apologies for failing to properly instruct you in using the sleep masks. The key components are: lots of exercise and time outdoors just prior to leaving for the airport, a warm bath, cozy sweats for PJs, and a full belly. The crucial piece, however, is the parental threat followed by a few sips of that complementary vino. Works like a charm every time. However, if you permitted the children to imbibe soda and sugar prior to boarding, I must absolve myself of all responsibility.
Have fun! Be safe. Take tons of pictures.
Love, Karen
